Trancoso is a very charming village located in the south of Bahia. A laid-back, bohemian-chic town surrounded by some of the most amazing beaches of Brazil.
The "Quadrado" is the heart of the village and very lively at night time with many wonderful bars and restaurants with the most delicious food. Once a small fisherman's town, the small colorful houses are still part of this picturesque landscape and along with the iconic Church, the constructions are protected by UNESCO.
The region was the landing point of the Portuguese explorer, Pedro Alvares Cabral onto Brazil, on April 22, 1500. It was founded by Jesuit Priests in 1583.
The main attraction of Trancoso are the white sandy beaches. Most of them are protected by reefs and form natural swimming pools at low tide.
